Lithuanian champions started preparation for the new season

At the coldest winter day, on January 8, the A League champion football club "Panevėžys" began laying the foundation for the 2024 season.

17 footballers gathered for the first training session under coach Gino Lettieri. Among the players with contracts were not Ariagner Smith, who is undergoing rehabilitation in Nicaragua after an injury with the national team, and Nikos Kačaravos - a Georgian who will join the team's training process later.

The first friendly match for "Panevėžys" will be played on January 13 in Vilnius against BFA players, with the match starting at 14:00 at the BFA Arena.

Later, G. Lettieri's team will hold a training camp in Liepaja for a few days, and will test their strength against "Liepaja" and Riga RFS teams on January 17 and 19. The month's cycle will be completed at the Marijampolė football arena on the 28th with a clash against Daugavpils BFC "Daugavpils" players.

In February - four more friendly matches: on the 3rd in Kaunas against Kaunas district "Hegelmann", on the 9th in Liepaja "Panevėžys" will face "Jelgava", on the 12th - in the same city there will be a match with Telšiai "Džiugu".

The final rehearsal before the Supercup will take place on February 17 in Marijampolė - then they will face the A League bronze medalist FA "Šiauliai".
