Lithuanian players scored two goals and defeated Estonians (VIDEO)

The Lithuanian men's national football team secured their first victory under the leadership of Edgaras Jankauskas. In the Baltic Cup match in Klaipėda, Lithuanians confidently defeated the representatives of Estonia with a score of 2:0. The goals in the first half were scored by Nerijus Valskis and Fedor Černych. In the lineup of the Lithuanian national team, safety Dovydas Norvilas made his debut in these matches, while defender Arūnas Klimavičius appeared on the field after a long break. The first threat to the opponents' goal was created by the Lithuanians after a corner kick - a header from Edvinas Girdvainis sent the ball flying past the post. In the 19th minute, Lukas Spalvis came close to scoring - after a pass from Arvydas Novikovas, the striker headed the ball next to the post. The players' performance was also influenced by the stifling heat - so the teams agreed to take a break in the middle of the first half to recover. After playing for half an hour, the Lithuanian national team pushed forward. F. Černychas made a shot-pass from the right flank and Nerijus Valskis in the middle of the penalty area redirected the ball into the net. This was the first goal for the "Trakai" defender in the national team. Towards the end of the half, F. Černychas fired a shot from distance over the goal, and in the Estonian team, goalkeeper Emilijus Zubas caught the ball after Ilja Antonov's shot. Just before the break, Lithuania increased their lead - F. Černychas turned and sent the ball into the top corner of the goal from about 20 meters - 2:0. The hosts started the second half just as brightly as they ended the first. In the 52nd minute, a shot from Arvydas Novikovas shook the crossbar. A few minutes later, Mantas Kuklys fired a dangerous shot from distance, but Lukas Spalvis soon missed the goal with a header. Both teams made several substitutions, and in the second half, Lithuanian debutant Simonas Paulius joined the ranks. The Estonian team failed to create a more serious threat on goal, while Edgaras Jankauskas's proteges continued to attack - A. Novikovas and V. Slivka both fired shots over the goal. The match for the Baltic Cup, Lithuania team will continue on June 1 in Liepaja with Latvia.
