"Liverpool" advantage grows: "Wolves" upset "Man City" eleven

Three matches of the 8th round were played in the English Premier League on Sunday at 16:00.

A huge surprise was recorded at the "Etihad" stadium, where the two-time reigning country champion "Manchester City" hosted the struggling "Wolves" this season. The latter struck when "Man City" least expected it - with two counterattacks, the "Wolves" unexpectedly defeated the hosts 2-0.

After achieving eight victories out of eight possible, the "Liverpool" team gained an eight-point advantage over "Man City" following the latter's failure.

Pep Guardiola's players dominated with possession but did not create much real danger for Rui Patricio's goal throughout the match.

In the 80th minute, the hosts, who were then trying to score a winning goal, were punished by Adam Traore - Raul Jimenez sprinted forward, "eliminated" Nicolas Otamendi, and passed to A. Traore, who only had to accurately send the ball into Ederson's goal.

The "Man City" team, which suffered a strong blow, entered the final stage, but in added time, they were penalized with a second goal - another "Wolves" counterattack ended with A. Traore's goal.

For "Man City" with 16 points, this was the second defeat this season. In turn, the "Wolves" team achieved only their second victory in the tournament.

In other matches, the London "Chelsea" team put on a great performance, defeating "Southampton" 4-1.

Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, N'Golo Kante, and Mitchy Batshuayi led the "Chelsea" team to victory.

The London "Arsenal" team also secured a difficult but crucial victory. David Luiz's first goal for the club decided the win against "Bournemouth".

Arsenal" moves up to third place after the victory, while "Chelsea" moves up to fifth.
