Coach Rafael Benitez admitted that the club contacted the coach's agent and discussed the possible transfer of the coach to Liverpool.
R. Benitez was mentioned as one of the candidates to replace the dismissed coach G. Houllier. However, a few days ago, R. Benitez himself dismissed the rumors of moving to England.
This time the coach says that Liverpool would be a great club to coach.
"Liverpool is one of those clubs that coaches dream of coaching," Benitez told the Daily Star. "I have been several times at Anfield stadium as an opposing coach and the atmosphere is great. They (Liverpool) spoke with my agent Manuel Garcia Quilon to find out more about my situation. I am happy at Valencia and would only move to a strong club like Liverpool."
However, in yesterday's interview with a Spanish radio station, the coach said he wants to stay: "I am not in a hurry to move to Chelsea, Real Madrid, or any other club. I want to stay in Valencia. It is already a big club."
