On Monday evening, the last matches of the 8th round of the English Premier League were played.
An extraordinary duel took place at Anfield stadium - the footballers of Liverpool and Manchester United clashed. After a fierce battle, the winner in this encounter was not determined - the teams parted with a goalless draw.
The away team from Manchester started the match actively, but their attacks were soon met by Liverpool taking the initiative. In the first 45 minutes, the "Reds" had better opportunities, but they failed to break through the "Man Utd" defense and the spectators did not see any goals.
The second half started almost identically - the "Red Devils" put pressure on their opponents in the first five minutes, but Liverpool once again took control and dominated possession until the end of the match.
In the 58th minute, midfielder Emre Can had a great chance to put the hosts ahead, but his shot was superbly saved by the outstanding goalkeeper David De Gea.
Another great chance was created in the 71st minute, when midfielder Philippe Coutinho took a powerful shot from distance. Once again, D. De Gea showed incredible skills - he reached the ball with his fingertips and saved his team from conceding a goal.
There were no more serious episodes in terms of goal opportunities for either side in the remaining time, and the teams shared a point each.
After the draw, Liverpool added the 17th point to their tally and remain in fourth place. For the Manchester United club, it was the 14th point in the English Premier League.
