"Liverpool" and "Tottenham" confidently entered the league cup semi-final

Today saw the end of two more "Capital One" Cup quarter-final matches, in which favorites celebrated victories and secured spots in the semifinals.

Struggling this season, "Liverpool" triumphed away against league leaders "Bournemouth" in the second league.

Brendan Rodgers' team took the lead with a header from Raheem Sterling after almost twenty minutes. Just seven minutes later, Lazar Markovic doubled the lead for the visitors.

At the start of the second half, "Liverpool" was already celebrating a three-goal advantage, as Sterling once again found the back of the net against the opponents' goalkeeper.

The home team managed to score a consolation goal, but the final whistle blew with the scoreboard showing a 3-1 victory for "Liverpool".

Playing at home, London's "Tottenham" faced a tougher opponent in the form of "Newcastle United", who are lagging behind in the Premier League standings. Nevertheless, the "Spurs" secured a more comfortable victory than the Merseyside team.

The first goal for the capital club came from Nabil Bentaleb. The ball ended up in the net after a corner kick was grossly mishandled by the visitors' goalkeeper.

Although "Tottenham" only led by one goal after the break, all the points were collected in the second half: Nacer Chadli scored just minutes after the restart, followed by Harry Kane, and later by substitute Roberto Soldado.

The match ended with a score of 4-0.

In the semifinals, "Liverpool" will clash with London's "Chelsea", while "Tottenham" will face "Sheffield United", who caused an upset against "Southampton" yesterday.
