On Sunday evening, a highly anticipated match took place at Old Trafford stadium - the last match of the 9th round of the English Premier League. This season, the struggling Manchester United team hosted their biggest rival - Liverpool. The "Red Devils" led for much of the match but crumbled towards the end and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Liverpool avoided defeat but failed to secure a win for the first time this season - previously they had won eight out of eight matches. The match in Manchester started with aggressive and intense football - players from both teams showed determination and were not willing to lose any battles on the field. During the first ten minutes, the hosts were more active, but later Jurgen Klopp's players spent more time with the ball. Nevertheless, Manchester United players broke through first - in the 36th minute, Daniel James launched a quick attack from the right side, passed the ball into the penalty area, where Joel Matip missed Marcus Rashford and the latter scored from close range against Alisson after his return from injury. After this goal, the entire Liverpool team showed frustration as there was a foul against Divock Origi during the attack. Martin Atkinson used VAR for a review but the goal stood. In the second half, the Man Utd team shifted focus from attacking to defending, playing almost flawlessly in defense. Liverpool tried to find gaps in their opponents' defense, but most of their attempts were thwarted before reaching the United goal. In the 85th minute, one of Liverpool's attacks ended with a goal by Adam Lallana, who was left unmarked after Andrew Robertson's pass and equalized for Liverpool. After losing points for the first time this season in the Premier League, Liverpool still maintains a significant advantage over their closest pursuer - by six points. Manchester United fell to 13th place after the draw, having only secured two wins in nine rounds. Result: Manchester United 1 - 1 Liverpool 36' [1 - 0] M. Rashford 85' [1 - 1] A. Lallana
