"Liverpool" closes in on agreement for "Burnley" defensive stalwart

The English newspaper "Daily Mirror" reports that "Liverpool" is nearing an agreement for the transfer of "Burnley" center-back Michael Keane.

The former "Manchester United" player who returned to the "Premier" League this season demonstrated excellent form and was the defensive leader of Sean Dyche's players.

In the spring, he made his debut for the England national team, and now the Merseyside club is ready to pay him £25 million.

It is reported that Keane has already agreed on personal contract terms with "Liverpool," but all the details have not been finalized yet because the Englishman is waiting to see if the "Reds" secure a place in the UEFA Champions League.

Playing in the strongest European tournament is precisely the main reason why the 24-year-old footballer would like to seek new challenges.

This season, he played 35 matches in the "Premier" League.
