One of the main reasons for the recent success of "Liverpool" - sporting director Michael Edwards - will officially leave the club after the end of the season. He has been working at "Liverpool" for exactly 10 years now. During his tenure, the Englishman brought players to the club such as Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Georginio Wijnaldum. Julian Ward, who has been Edwards' assistant so far, will take over the role of sporting director.

We have today announced future changes to the structure of our football operations leadership, with the news that Michael Edwards will step down as sporting director at the end of this season. - Liverpool FC (@LFC) November 10, 2021
