At 19:30 in the English "Premier" league, the seventh matches of the 27th round were played.
At "Anfield" stadium, the teams fighting for the top four spots, "Liverpool" and London's "Arsenal", clashed. Jurgen Klopp's wards achieved a convincing victory against Arsene Wenger's squad - 3:1.
From the very beginning of the match, the "Reds" took the initiative, and in the 9th minute, the first goal was scored. After a great attack from Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino received the ball and with a precise shot, he beat Petr Cech to put the hosts ahead.
After the missed goal, the "Gunners" continued to attack but passively, and in the 28th minute, P. Cech saved "Arsenal" from conceding a second goal, when Philippe Coutinho took an excellent shot.
In the 40th minute, Liverpool's team managed to score a completely deserved second goal. Once again, brilliantly playing with at least four "Liverpool" players, Mane scored his goal in this clash.
In the second half, "Arsenal" had nowhere to retreat, and A. Wenger unexpectedly substituted Alexis Sanchez from the very first minute.
After the Chilean entered the field, the North London team started to show a more aggressive game. In the 57th minute, "Arsenal" brought intrigue back by scoring a goal - after a superb pass from A. Sanchez, Danny Welbeck neatly sent the ball into the opponents' goal.
During the remaining time, the "Gunners" tried to fight for an equalizer, but the visitors were much poorer than their opponents. In the 82nd minute, Divock Origi hit the crossbar, and already in stoppage time, Giorginio Wijnaldum scored the final goal after a quick counterattack.
After the victory, "Liverpool" pushed "Arsenal" out of the top four, while they themselves temporarily rose to third place.
