At 19:30 in the English Premier League, the eighth match of the 4th round took place.
At "Anfield" stadium, players from Liverpool and Leicester City faced each other. The defending champions "Reds" cannot find the recipe for success from last season - they suffered a 1-4 defeat at home.
In the 13th minute, striker Roberto Firmino put the home team ahead. In the 31st minute, Jurgen Klopp's players gained a two-goal advantage when Sadio Mane scored after a pass from Daniel Sturridge.
However, in the 38th minute, the visitors from Leicester managed to bring intrigue back into the game. A mistake by Liverpool's defender Lucas, playing in the center-back position in this match, allowed Jamie Vardy to beat Simon Mignolet and make the score 1-2.
Unfortunately for Leicester City, Liverpool did not make such mistakes in the second half and two more goals helped them achieve a crushing result. Adam Lallana and the same R. Firmino secured the victory with their goals.
Liverpool is now in fifth place with 7 points, while Leicester City, who suffered their second defeat, is languishing in 15th place in the standings.
