"Liverpool" seeks to acquire Mista © EuroFootball.com

Coach Claudio Ranieri confirmed that he is interested in acquiring forward Mista. The Italian strategist also added that Mista has attracted the attention of other clubs.

Mista himself refuses to sign a new contract with the Spanish champions and intends to leave the club already this winter or next summer. His current contract ends next summer.

This dissatisfaction of the forward was fueled by little playing time this season. With the addition of two Italian forwards Marcus Di Vaio and Bernardo Corradi to the Spanish club's squad, Mista spends most of the matches on the bench, although last season he was one of the most productive players of the club with 19 goals.

C.Ranieri himself stated that he would like to keep Mista in his team, but his wish would only come true if Mista extends his contract. At least for now, Mista does not intend to do so.

If Mista does not sign a new contract, "Valencia" will most likely try to sell him, as in the summer he would leave the club without any transfer fee.
