"Liverpool" survived the drama in Newcastle and continues to fight for the title

On Saturday evening, two more matches of the 37th round took place in the English Premier League.

After a painful midweek defeat, Liverpool was close to practically losing the chance to win the Premier League title. However, at the end of the match, Divock Origi's goal from a set piece brought Liverpool victory against Newcastle.

Liverpool needed only a win in these matches, as otherwise Manchester City could have secured the title in the match against Leicester.

The match started well for the visitors - Virgil van Dijk scored a header in the 13th minute from a corner. However, Christian Atsu equalized in the 20th minute.

The tie did not last long - eight minutes later, Mohamed Salah put Liverpool ahead again after Trent Alexander-Arnold's pass.

In the second half, the Reds did not ease off - the Magpies continued to fight actively and equalized once again in the 54th minute. This time, Salomon Rondon scored with a great strike.

Later, Liverpool struggled to create chances without Salah, who suffered a serious head injury in the 73rd minute and had to be taken off on a stretcher.

Even without their leader, the Reds found the strength to achieve victory at the end of the match - in the 86th minute, Divock Origi headed the ball into the hosts' net from a set piece. Liverpool celebrated a 3-2 victory and temporarily rose to the top of the table.

In the earlier match, Cardiff lost to Crystal Palace and became the third club to be relegated from the top division. Along with Cardiff, Huddersfield and Fulham will also return to the Championship.
