Jurgen Klopp confirmed the worst news - Liverpool will be without two attacking stars for the crucial UEFA Champions League semi-final match.
It was previously reported that the team might be without Roberto Firmino for the rest of the season, but now Mohamed Salah has also joined him after suffering a head injury in the weekend match against Newcastle.
Initially the prognosis was positive, but Jurgen Klopp confirmed in a press conference that M. Salah will not be able to help the team in the upcoming match on Tuesday due to the collision with an opponent.
"From the medical side, this injury does not look very good. Salah is eager to play, but we simply cannot allow it. He has a concussion. This means only one thing - he will not play," the coach announced sadly.
Liverpool also lost Naby Keita until the start of next season. When asked how he plans to deal with the situation, the coach replied: "We need to make a lot of decisions - tomorrow will be the third match in three days. Barca changed their entire lineup over the weekend. We'll see how things unfold."
It is to be noted that the first leg of the semi-final at Camp Nou ended with a 3-0 victory for the hosts. Liverpool, trailing by three goals, needs to overturn the deficit.
