"Liverpool" will no longer compete for Alisson

Football news portal Goal.com journalist Melissa Reddy reveals that Liverpool has decided to withdraw from the battle for Roma goalkeeper Alisson.

Disappointed with Lorius Karius' performances, the "Reds" identified the Brazilian as their main target for the mid-season, but have now changed their decision.

Although negotiations for the transfer of the 25-year-old footballer were already gaining momentum, the "Giallorossi" demanded as much as 62 million pounds sterling. This is significantly more than the record price for Ederson, who arrived in the Premier League for 34.7 million pounds.

It is reported that Alisson's agent Ze Maria Neisas has already been informed that Liverpool intends to rely on Karius in the role of the main goalkeeper.

However, the Merseyside club may still add a new goalkeeper in this position in the summer, as the future is unclear for Simon Mignolet who lost his place in the starting lineup.
