It is expected that with the help of the city, "Anfield," which currently holds 42 thousand people, will grow to 60 thousand seats. The project, planned to start in 2014, would cost around 186 million euros. One of the main reasons the owners of "Liverpool" from the United States cited for not building a new stadium is the goal of preserving traditions and the spirit of "Anfield." A larger stadium would allow the "Liverpool" team to significantly increase ticket revenue. Currently, "Liverpool" earns about 50 million euros per season, while London's "Arsenal" and "Man Utd" playing in larger and more modern stadiums gather 115 and 135 million euros respectively.
