LMFA I league "Džiugas" retained first place, "Nevėžis" set a record

Over the weekend, the first round of matches in the Lithuanian Women's Football Association's First League took place, which saw a scoring spree in Kėdainiai, with two matches ending in a draw.

On Friday, at Kėdainiai city stadium, fans witnessed "Nevėžis" celebrate victory against "Šešupė" with a score of 17:0 – the biggest goal difference recorded in the 2023 season. In this match, even 6 players scored doubles: Amanda Užkuraitytė, Gabija Jonaitytė, Deimantė Griesiūtė, Goda Šabūnaitė, Kamilė Čekavičiūtė, Reda Gulbinaitė. Other goal scorers were Eva Gecevičiūtė, Samanta Rusevičiūtė, Austėja Gulbinaitė, Vilma Snieškaitė, and an own goal by Saulė Veikalaitė.

FC "Hegelmann" dubs played a draw with MFK "Žalgiris" with a score of 1:1. Alina Neznanova put Vilnius ahead at the start of the match, but the hosts equalized the score in the 19th minute.

The match between FA "Šiauliai"-ŠSG and "SC-Ukmergė" ended in a 4:4 draw. In the first half, the Šiauliai team led 3:1, but Ukmergė responded with a 3:1 lead in the second half. Among the home team scorers were Jotvilė Šapaitė, Gabija Toropovaitė, Raimonda Bložytė who scored two goals, including the final one. In the "SC-Ukmergė" team, Meida Proscevičiūtė had a hat-trick, and Livija Toropovaitė also contributed effectively.

On Sunday in Fabijoniškės, the score changed unpredictably like a pendulum. At this stadium, FK "Vilnius" dubs played against "Džiugas". Telšiai took the lead after Margarita Vagdarytė's goal in the middle of the first half, but after the break, Marta Šmidt equalized. Later, Kamilė Domarkaitė once again gave the advantage to the representatives of Žemaitija, but soon Skaistė Petrauskaitė leveled the score. The decisive goal came from Justina Blaževičiūtė in the 70th minute, after which the Vilnius team could not avoid defeat 2:3.

Next weekend will see the seventh round of the championship, after which the summer break will be announced.
