The bronze medalist of the Russian Premier League from Moscow replaced the head coach and president - on Tuesday, after a meeting of the club's directors, Anatoly Byshevets and Yuri Siomin were appointed to their respective positions, replacing Oleg Dolmatov and Valery Filatov.
60-year-old Anatoly Byshevets, former coach of the Soviet Union and Russian national teams, who was invited by Vladimir Romanov a couple of years ago to manage the "Kaunas" and Edinburgh "Hearts" clubs under him, signed a two-year contract with "Lokomotiv". The former team coach J. Siomin also signed a similar contract, replacing V. Filatov who resigned from his position as president.
The "Lokomotiv" team started the 2006 season coached by Serbian Slavoljub Muslin, but he was dismissed in October and O. Dolmatov worked with the team for the rest of the season. However, he was unable to save the year, and the Moscow club finished in third place, meaning they will compete in the UEFA Europa League next season.
