The German national team has received bad news just before the start of the 2016 European Championship. During training, center-back Antonio Rudiger suffered a knee ligament injury and will miss the competition.
The 23-year-old defender, who belongs to the "Roma" club, arrived in France with the German national team yesterday, but suffered a knee cruciate ligament injury during the first training session and had to leave the team camp.
A. Rudiger will be replaced in the German ranks by 20-year-old Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah. The young footballer has participated in friendly matches with the national team, so he is ready to replace his injured colleague.
Mats Hummels will also not be able to play due to a thigh injury, but it is expected that he will be ready for the second match.
Germany will play their first EURO 2016 match against the Ukrainian national team.
