Louis Van Gaal: "United" transfer targets want to strengthen the team

„Manchester United“ coach Louis Van Gaal has mentioned that the club is still willing to spend money and will do so during the upcoming January transfer window. The Dutchman also stated that the players the team is interested in adding to the "Red Devils" want to join the team, but their current clubs do not allow them to do so.

„As I said in the summer, I couldn't buy all the players I wanted. In my opinion, we need creative and fast players in attack. You've seen the players I bought - I like that style, but we need more of those footballers. I think all the players I'm interested in want to join our team, but they can't do it because of the teams that are stopping them,“ - Daily Star quoted the coach talking about plans for January.

It is reported that the Dutchman would like to acquire the "Lazio" star Felipe Anderson. The player has recently shone in the "Serie A" league, scoring four goals in one week. According to Daily Star information, the Italian team rejected a £28 million offer for the 22 year old player, and Anderson himself was "disappointed" with the club's decision.

The skillful attacking player shone last season by scoring 10 goals in 23 league matches in the "Serie A" championship.  "United" lacks quality on the flanks, especially when their new signing Memphis Depay does not show the expected performance. Anderson could be the player to change that and bring the skills the team's attack needs.

Recently, Wayne Rooney has also received some criticism, but Van Gaal remains positive about the team's captain, stating his pride in the team after the derby with "Manchester City".

"United" has started the "Premier League" season successfully, but at the moment they are having trouble scoring goals and this is the issue that Van Gaal needs to address in January. Memphis may still show what the team expects from him when he gets used to the new team and new competitions, but the Dutchman cannot expect Rooney to significantly improve his form as his performance curve is slowly declining.

Martial is the future of the "United" team in attack and the team needs to assemble a complete forward line around him, which can showcase all the beautiful French qualities with their speed and skills. Although the player is currently being played on the left attacking side, he deserves to be the main striker for the team and the acquisition of a player like Anderson could improve this situation and speed up the progress of the talented striker, allowing him to play in his natural position.
