As announced by the Spanish "Primera" league team, Argentine national team defender Lionel Scaloni has agreed to move to their ranks and signed a one-year contract with the club.
The 28-year-old player, who participated in this year's World Championships with his national team, was released from La Coruna's "Deportivo" team in August along with his team mate Diego Tristan.
L. Scaloni left "Estudiantes de La Plata" in 1998 and joined "Deportivo", winning the Spanish championship in 2000 and the King's Cup in 2002 with this team.
Last year, the player did not fit into coach Joaquino Caparroso's plans, so in the second half of the season he played for England's "West Ham" team.
"Racing" managed to survive in the top Spanish league last season, but now they have already suffered two defeats in the "Primera" championship, the latest being a 1-0 loss to the "Getafe" team.
