L.Scolari was proposed to become the coach of "Everton" © EuroFootball.com

Portugal national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari revealed that he received an offer to coach a club during the summer.

Speaking to the Portuguese newspaper "A Bola," he did not mention a specific club, but hinted that it was "Everton." When asked which clubs offered him a job before he signed a new contract with the Portuguese national team, L. Scolari replied: "I received offers from Italy, England, and Spain.

I can even give an example. A team that finished 17th in the English Premier League ("Everton") offered me a job, but what can I do when the club invites me and says they have a transfer budget of 15 million euros. How can you compete with big clubs when you can only buy no more than two good players for that amount?"

Meanwhile, Everton's representative Ian Ross told the BBC television channel that it was complete nonsense.

L. Scolari also said that he had spoken to the club's leaders about the possible replacement of the outgoing coach J.A. Camacho. However, the Portuguese club appointed Italian Giovanni Trapattoni as the new coach.
