After the third round of the Lithuanian student football league, the reigning champion Vilnius University team solidified their position at the top of the tournament table. The Vilnius team dominated 4:0 on the road, leaving no chance for the KTU footballers who suffered their second defeat.

From the beginning of the match, Rimantas Turskis' team took control and managed to score twice before and after the break. Povilas Kalimavicius scored in the first half, while Rokas Zakaras and Justas Juozelskis (own goal) found the net in the second half.

With three wins in three matches, VU leads the closest competitors by four points. Those closest competitors are the students of Klaipeda University.

In this round, the Klaipeda team played against Vilnius TECH in the capital. The hosts took the lead with a precise strike from Carlos Guanche. The goal scorer, a Spanish legionnaire, made his debut in the Lithuanian student football league in this match.

The game remained unchanged after the goal. Both teams continued to run a lot and quickly, with Vilnius TECH creating opportunities. One such chance came at the beginning of the second half, when the Klaipeda team was saved by their goalkeeper Vadimas Trefilovas. Immediately after that episode, KU had a chance of their own. Darius Jurgelevicius outpaced the goalkeeper and scored.

The end of the match was very intense. With twelve minutes remaining, Valdas Vitkauskas converted a penalty to put Vilnius TECH ahead again, but after eight minutes, Mantas Rusys equalized from a close distance – 2:2.

"For various reasons, we were missing some key players in this match, but we didn't lack energy. The opponents created many chances, and we had our own. Of course, we wanted to win, but at least it's good that we're not returning empty-handed," said KU player-coach Evaldas Misiunas after the match.

"I was surprised by the amount of energy we had. But at the same time, it's very encouraging. If someone had offered us four points after three matches before the start of the championship, we would have definitely accepted that offer," said Vilnius TECH coach Giedrius Barevicius.

In the third round of matches between the two Kaunas teams, LSU was stronger than VDU with a score of 2:1. In this clash, the first dangerous moment of the future winners ended with a goal. Gediminas Vansevicius's 16-meter strike left no chance for the opponents' goalkeeper.

Later, VDU created numerous chances, but it was not their day. In turn, LSU's second chance resulted in a second goal. Ignas Bajorinas deceived the opponents' defender in the penalty area and soon doubled the lead.

Although there were only a few minutes left until halftime, VDU managed to narrow the gap. Ettienne Laborde, completely unmarked in front of the opponent's goalkeeper, sent the ball into the net from a few meters away.

LSU secured their first victory of the season, while VDU remains with one point in the tournament after two matches.
