"Lyon" temporarily returns to first place in France

Today the matches of the 31st round of "Ligue 1" were played.

The first ones to enter the battle were the mid-table team "Guingamp" and the title contenders "Lyon". As expected, Hubert Fournier's players secured a victory on the road without much difficulty.

The Lyon team was ahead 2-0 already after the first half, with goals scored by Nabil Fekir and Alexandre Lacazette. After the break, Clinton Njie added another goal, while Claudio Beauvue's precise strike narrowed the result.

The winners of this match at least until tomorrow rose to the first place in the standings. On Easter day, French football fans await a real treat, as at 22:00 Lithuanian time, the title contenders "Paris Saint-Germain" and "Marseille", separated by just two points, will also enter the battle for the gold.

In the evening, teams in lower positions in the table such as "Lille", "Rennes" and "Montpellier" also secured victories. All of them scored three goals each and respectively defeated "Reims", "Lorient" and "Bastia".

It is also worth mentioning the excellent performance of "Metz" forward Modibo Maiga, who scored a hat-trick in less than half an hour, leading his team to a 3-2 victory over "Toulouse" and keeping their hopes alive in the top division.
