M. Alonso's double leads "Chelsea" to victory in the London derby (VIDEO)

On Sunday at 18:00 Lithuanian time, an intriguing ninth match took place in the 2nd round of the English Premier League.

At Wembley Stadium, London, Tottenham hosted Chelsea. Antonio Conte's team bounced back from their defeat in the first round and achieved a hard-fought victory with a score of 2-1 in the London derby.

The match started with active play from both teams. Right at the beginning of the game, Alvaro Morata was close to scoring - the Spaniard headed the ball just wide of the goal post after a great pass from Willian.

However, Tottenham also threatened with dangerous attacks. Harry Kane, in particular, was very active and even hit the crossbar once.

In the 24th minute, the first goal was scored at Wembley Stadium - Marcos Alonso converted a wonderful penalty kick and put Antonio Conte's team ahead.

In the second half, the teams continued the match, which demanded a lot of energy. Spurs attacked much more in the second half, but breaking through Chelsea's defense was not easy.

In the 82nd minute, the equalizing goal finally came - unfortunately, after a set piece, Michy Batshuayi deflected the ball into his own net just a few minutes after entering the field.

After the equalizing goal, Tottenham continued to pressure Chelsea in their half, but in the 88th minute, the same M. Alonso harshly punished them - the defender, after a pass from Pedro, beat Hugo Lloris for the second time in this match and secured an important victory for his team.

This victory was crucial for the Chelsea team - in the first round, the Blues lost to Burnley. Meanwhile, Tottenham had to settle for a draw after defeating Newcastle.
