"West Ham" announced unexpected news on Saturday evening - Marko Arnautovič, linked to a move to China, has extended his contract with the club.
Throughout January, there were speculations about the Austrian's future within the "Hammers" ranks. Recently, there have been rumors that the striker was on the verge of a move to China, but ultimately the footballer not only stayed in the club but also renewed his contract.
However, "West Ham" did not disclose how long the contract was extended for.
The Chinese club was already prepared to pay €35 million for M. Arnautovič, and he himself was to receive a weekly salary of €200,000.
"I am happy, I am satisfied that we have reached this point. I am glad that the club is improving, step by step. Every week, every month we see breakthroughs in the team," said M. Arnautovič.
The 29-year-old player, who joined "West Ham" in the summer of 2017, scored eight goals in 18 matches this season.
