M. Asensio who does not think about "Ballon d'Or": I am still young and promise to improve

Today, 21-year-old Marco Asensio, who has just signed a new contract with Madrid's "Real" club, does not intend to rest on his laurels - the talented Spaniard is not thinking about individual awards yet and promises to continue improving.

Having performed excellently last season and starting this year impressively, M. Asensio today put his signature on a new contract valid until 2023. The contract of the Spanish national team player will include a huge release clause - 500 million euros.

Many football experts and prestigious newspapers see M. Asensio as the most promising young footballer. The biggest football star and M. Asensio's teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, stated that the young footballer has all the chances to win the "Ballon d'Or" award in the future.

"Receiving such praise from Cristiano is something special. However, I still don't think about such an award as the 'Ballon d'Or', but I am still young and will take it step by step," said M. Asensio.

"It is a great honor for me to extend my contract with this club. I learned a lot here last year, and this season has also started fantastically. My goal is the same - to win as many titles as possible with 'Real'.

I am lucky to have the opportunity to work with my childhood idol, Zidane. He has always been a special player to me, and now Cristiano is the same. His ambition to win everything infects the whole team," M. Asensio continued.

The rising football star also mentioned that his biggest dream now is to participate in the 2018 World Cup in Russia with the Spanish national team next summer.

"It is always a great honor to represent my country. I will work hard throughout this season to be with the Spanish national team at the World Cup. This is my dream," M. Asensio concluded.
