Long-time Real Madrid player Marco Asensio will have to seriously consider his future career path.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder, who can play in defensive and offensive positions, could become a free agent in just a couple of months.
According to The Athletic, Aston Villa is closely monitoring the situation and is preparing to offer the footballer a "lucrative contract."
However, Asensio himself still prefers the royal team, but negotiations for a new contract are currently at a standstill.
In this La Liga season, the forward has scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists in 27 matches (13 as a starter).
