"Liverpool" striker Mario Balotelli, who has not fit in, arrived in Italy, where he will undergo a medical examination at AC Milan.
The official offer to bring back the sniper on loan basis for one season was submitted by the "fashion capital" team on Sunday.
The Serie A giant has now confirmed that Balotelli is just a step away from an official transfer.
"At 8.26 this morning, Mario Balotelli arrived at the La Madonnina clinic, where he will undergo medical tests," reads the official club website.
The Italian, who scored just one goal in the Premier League last season, moved from Milan to Liverpool in August 2014 for 16 million pounds sterling.
The executive director of the Italian club, Adriano Galliani, said that this is Balotelli's last chance to prove his worth.
