Controversial Italian football star Mario Balotelli's post on the social network "Instagram" turned into a scandal of racism and antisemitism. The message from the "Liverpool" striker offended the Jewish community and insulted black people. Major English internet portals and newspapers are buzzing with headlines about M. Balotelli's post, and the star is facing disqualification. "He jumps like a black man and collects coins like a Jew," "Instagram" commented on the computer game hero "Super Mario" referring to M. Balotelli. This 24-year-old footballer's message spread in the public space, and the first public figure to react was Jewish Consul General Simon Johnson, who is also a former head of the English Football Association (FA). "We do not tolerate any form of racism. We call on the FA to investigate this insulting message and take action. This is the only way to eradicate racism from football," said S. Johnson. "Super stupid Mario" - M. Balotelli, also known by the nickname "Super Mario", was criticized by the British press. Brits speculate that M. Balotelli faces at least a five-match suspension. The "Liverpool" player himself soon deleted the controversial post from his account and defended himself: "My mother is Jewish, so shut up." The FA regulations also cover footballers' participation in the public space on social networks and statements on racial topics. M. Balotelli himself had been a fierce fighter against racism in the past. Racism in football is a sensitive topic, and in recent years, several players in England have been punished for racist remarks. Struggling this season, M. Balotelli may soon leave "Liverpool". The Italian is not living up to the expectations of the English team.
