The Munich club "Bayern" is struggling to find a suitable replacement for the injured goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the Bundesliga champions have led intensive negotiations for the acquisition of Monchengladbach's "Borussia" goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
However, the talks ended in failure - "Bayern" was unable to offer 8 million euros (plus 1 million as a possible add-on) for the 34-year-old Swiss goalkeeper.
The experienced footballer has been defending the colors of "Borussia" since 2014.
Meanwhile, he has been playing for the Swiss national team since 2012 and has participated in three World Cups.
