In the fourth round of the "TOPsport A League," Marijampolė's "Sūduva" dramatically fought for the right to play in the relegation matches, which will begin this weekend.

During the decisive phase, 21-year-old Motiejus Burba was noticeable, helping to avoid relegation. After tallying the votes from championship commentators and podcast hosts, "Sūduva's" attacking player became the best young player for the months of October and November.

The award is presented by the championship's main sponsor, "Pragmatic Play."

In October and November, M. Burba played in four matches in the "TOPsport A League," scoring 2 goals. Once, he made an impressive long shot in the winning match against Gargždų "Banga," and in the last round's match against "Kauno Žalgiris," with the score at 2:2, he earned a penalty and successfully converted it.

Overall, the player belonging to Vilnius "Žalgiris" scored 3 times in 32 appearances in the Lithuanian championship this year. M. Burba could improve his statistics in the upcoming two matches against Jonavos "Be1" team.

"This phase showed that we certainly have a fighting mentality in the team. We found ourselves in a situation where we definitely needed to collect points, and we did it. Both I, the coaching staff, players, and fans understand that 'Sūduva' should not be this low, but given the circumstances, the most important thing was to secure 9th place and fight for survival."

We are an A League club, but we are preparing very responsibly during analyses and training. It will not be easy; it never is, but I believe in my teammates!" said the representative of "Sūduva."

In this category, Alytaus DFK "Dainava" midfielder Ode Abdullahi triumphed in March and June, Armandas Kučys, who left "Kauno Žalgiris" and moved to Slovenia, won in April, Pijus Srėbalius from "Banga" won in May, Tautvydas Burdzilauskas from "Sūduva" in July, Oyinlola Kayode from "Kauno Žalgiris" in August, and another "Dainava" player, Davoras Rakičius, in September.
