Long-time "Manchester United" defender Michael Carrick claims that Jose Mourinho has adapted to the team's playing philosophy and has become a promoter of attacking football.
The 54-year-old coach, who had previously won the Premier League with London's "Chelsea" before arriving at "Man Utd", has faced criticism from many football fans and experts for his style of play, which often involved parking the bus in front of his own goal.
This season, "Man Utd" has been showing more attacking play in the opponent's half. Carrick is convinced that it was not the team that had to adapt to Mourinho's tactics, but the coach himself had to immerse himself in the philosophy of "Man Utd's" game.
"I think the coach has adapted to the traditions of 'United' game - and he himself acknowledged that," said Carrick. "All the credit for that goes to the coach. Of course, you have to play with the players who you consider to be the strongest. He has a philosophy that he aims to achieve here in Manchester."
"I really like that. Even before he arrived at the club, I was very intrigued to see his working methods. From the very beginning, you can see that he is a winner. Around Jose Mourinho, there are only victories and nothing more," the defender concluded.
On Monday evening, "Man Utd" will face a tough match in the FA Cup quarterfinals, where they will have to fight for a place in the semifinals against London's "Chelsea."
