Still unaware of his further career station, Matthijs de Ligt received a personal invitation from Cristiano Ronaldo to come to Turin and join Juventus.
On Sunday, M. de Ligt and C. Ronaldo faced each other with their national teams. The defender had to face off with the Portuguese player more than once, until finally after the match, which was won by the Portuguese national team, C. Ronaldo invited him to play together in Juventus during a short conversation.
"Ronaldo asked me to join the Juventus team," de Ligt told the press in his country.
"I was surprised to hear this invitation, so I even chuckled a little. At first, I didn't quite understand what he was exactly saying," said the highly promising defender.
De Ligt also added that he will now go on vacation and only then start thinking about offers from other clubs.
The Dutch player has been linked with clubs such as Barcelona, PSG, and Manchester United.
