Former center-back of Bayern Munich and Manchester City clubs, Martin Demichelis, is ending his professional career.
The 36-year-old former member of the Argentinian national team will finish this season at Malaga club. The defender decided not to continue his career in another team and will bid farewell to football boots forever.
"I want to be honest and say that I have lost my strength and concentration in my legs," admitted M. Demichelis. "I want to thank football for what it has given me over all these years, and finishing my career at Malaga club was one of my dreams."
This season, M. Demichelis also wore the colors of Barcelona's Espanyol, but in January he returned to Malaga. Before returning to Spain, the Argentine spent three years at Man City club.
The highlight of M. Demichelis's career was Bayern Munich club, where he won four German championship titles and once competed in the UEFA Champions League final during his seven-year stint.
Throughout his career, the defender also defended the colors of River Plate and Madrid's Atletico clubs. In total, during his professional career, the Argentine managed to play in 546 matches and score 31 goals.
M. Demichelis will be able to play his final matches on Sunday when Malaga hosts Real Madrid, who are competing for the title.
