During the last off-season, "Lyon" leader Memphis Depay stayed in France despite being linked with "Barcelona." The 26-year-old Dutch player's contract with his current club is set to expire this summer, and rumors about a possible move to "Barca" started back in January and have not stopped since. However, the winger himself revealed after Wednesday's match against "Lens" that there is a real chance he will stay with "Lyon" until the end of his contract.
"I am extremely happy to be part of 'Lyon.' We have a great team, and I really like the club's president. We will see what happens in the near future. I just want to move forward and enjoy every moment in this club. It is likely that I will stay in the team until the end of the season," - M. Depay told "Canal+".
This season, the Dutch player has played 18 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists.
