"Manchester United" forward Memphis Depay will try to prove himself as an important player for the team in the upcoming friendly matches of the Netherlands national team against France and England.
The 22-year-old footballer, currently in the ranks of the "Red Devils", has not lived up to the expectations placed on him so far and admitted that he thought he would not receive a call-up to the national team.
However, the player now feels confident in himself again and is looking forward to the upcoming matches.
"There were moments when I doubted whether I would be called up to the national team," - Depay told NOS.
"I had difficult matches before, but now I have confidence in myself. I want to show that I am still capable of representing Oranje."
"We are building a new team - the feeling is great. We have two great matches ahead of us. France and England are huge teams. We are optimistic about these matches."
Depay played 39 matches this season, scoring seven goals and providing six assists.
