Munich "Bayern" club sports director Max Eberl said that the acquisition of Joao Palhinha would have been extremely valuable for the Bavarians:

"If we had bought Joao Palhinha last summer, it would have helped us a lot last season.

Then the squad would have been a bit wider, and the injuries would not have been so painful."

Last season, Munich's "Bayern" team finished just 3rd in the German "Bundesliga" championship.
