German national team striker returns to where it all began. Mario Gomez has left "Wolfsburg" and signed a contract with "Stuttgart" until 2020.
It was here that the German began his career. Joining the team in 2003, the striker spent 6 years here and once triumphed in the Bundesliga. Later, he moved to Munich's "Bayern" for a record sum in Germany - 35 million euros.
Later, M. Gomez's career took him to Italy, where he represented the "Fiorentina" team, and then played for Istanbul's "Besiktas" team.
In 2016, M. Gomez returned to Germany, where he put on the "Wolfsburg" jersey. In 52 matches, he scored 19 goals. This season, he scored 1 goal and made 3 assists in 12 games.
"I am happy to be returning home, where everything started for me. I know that everyone expects a lot and this will be a real challenge. The most important thing now is to stay in the league, play well in the second half of the season, and for me to reach the World Cup," said M. Gomez.
