„Stoke City“ coach Mark Hughes has signed a new contract with the club, which will be valid until 2018.
Last season, the former strategist of „Man City“, „Blackburn“ and the Wales national team led the team to ninth place in the English championship, which was the highest achievement throughout the existence of the „Premier“ league.
This year, Hughes's „potters“ also look good and are ranked tenth with 42 points, just a few points behind the eighth-placed „Swansea City“.
„I think these are exciting times for „Stoke City“. Everyone can see that there is still room for improvement, so it will be interesting to see how far the club can go,“ the coach told the official website.
„I arrived here 18 months ago and everything has been going as well as I expected - we haven't stopped improving, and in my opinion, that is the most important thing.“
The coach also talked about how this season is more challenging for him, as the team is plagued by injuries to key players. Additionally, Hughes stated that continuity in the „Premier“ league is very important.
