M. Hummels, T. Muller and J. Boateng will no longer be called up to the German national team.

The German national team will welcome a new cycle of international matches with changes - experienced veterans will no longer be called up to the national team.

Joachim Low no longer intends to associate the future of the team with Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, and Thomas Muller. This decision was personally communicated to the football players by the football specialist.

As J. Low himself stated, this decision was made to open a new chapter in the German national team. He intends to give more chances to young talent.

"In 2019, we will start a new stage for the German national team. We want a fresh start after what happened at the end of last year. Jerome, Mats, and Thomas will no longer be part of the team. Today they were informed about that. It was important for me personally to inform them of this decision," said J. Low about the fate of the veterans.

"They are still world-class players who play important roles in their clubs. They can be called great players for what they have given to the national team over the years.

However, we decided that it is time for changes. We want a different look for this team, and I am convinced that this is a good step. We are sending a very clear message - there will be room for young football players in the national team, who will have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. From now on, they will have to take on more responsibility," added the coach.

The rejuvenated German national team will be seen as early as March 20, when they will face Serbia in a friendly match. Then, four days later, the Germans will compete against the Netherlands in the European Championship qualifying matches.
