M. Hummels: We Can Handle the World Cup Without Neuer and Boateng

Manuel Neuer and Jerome Boateng are trying to recover as quickly as possible to be able to go to the World Cup, but their team mate Mats Hummels thinks that the German national team is strong even without them.

The Bayern Munich goalkeeper has not played since September due to a broken foot, while his colleague playing in the center-back position got injured during the UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid in April.

Although Neuer is already training at full capacity, he has not yet secured his ticket to Russia. Meanwhile, Boateng is still working individually in training camp.

"Both players are amazing, potentially the best," Hummels said. "Not having them available is bad. However, it allows others to step up and take on this role. Still, they have the potential to play in the tournament."

It is believed that in any case, Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Barcelona will take Neuer's place in goal, while Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea in London would most likely replace Hummels. However, the Bayern defender refuses to speculate.

"There are many players in the squad who can step up and fill these gaps," added Hummels. "Anyone who demonstrates the best form and best game at the right moment will have a chance. I can't say more."

The Germans, who have become the strongest in the past four years, will undoubtedly be considered one of the favorites this year.
