On Sunday, seven matches of the 8th round took place in the Italian Serie A championship.
At the "San Siro" stadium, the two Milan clubs - Inter and Milan - clashed. In a five-goal thriller, which ended with Mauro Icardi scoring a hat-trick, Inter's footballers secured victory at the very end of the match.
From the first minutes of the game, Inter looked more secure with the ball. Luciano Spalletti's players created more dangerous opportunities than their opponents and gained the advantage in the middle of the first half.
In the 28th minute, after a great pass from Antonio Candreva, Mauro Icardi scored the first goal of the match.
In the second half, Milan's team played much better with the ball, and Inter was pressed towards their own goal at the beginning of the half. The rossoneri didn't take long to capitalize - in the 56th minute, Suso beat the opponents' goalkeeper with a great shot.
However, Inter didn't falter and responded with a goal seven minutes later - in the 63rd minute, Mauro Icardi, receiving the ball from Ivan Perisic, acrobatically put the hosts back in front.
The match didn't end there - although Inter had chances after their third goal, in the 81st minute, the score was equalized again - Giacomo Bonaventura, left entirely unmarked, forced the ball into his own net past Samir Handanovic.
The remaining minutes of the match passed with both teams playing actively. Milan's players defended the draw slightly more, but in the 90th minute, they were punished for it.
Ricardo Rodriguez brought down an opponent in an entirely unnecessary place after a corner, and a penalty was awarded. It was successfully converted, and the hero of the match became M. Icardi.
With this victory, Inter moved into third place, pushing Turin's Juventus down and maintaining a two-point gap from leaders Napoli. This was the third consecutive loss for Milan's team.
Earlier matches ended with victories for Fiorentina, Bologna, Genoa, and Sampdoria, as well as two draws.
