M. Klose improved G. Muller's scoring record in the German national team

German national team striker Miroslav Klose became the most productive player of all time for the national team on Friday.

The German team, a participant in the World Cup, in a friendly match on Friday in its own field after a particularly successful second half crushed the Armenian footballers 6:1 (0:0).

Goals contributing to the victory were scored by Andre Schuerrle (52 min.), Lukas Podolski (71 min.), Benedikt Hoewedes (73 min.), Miroslav Klose (76 min.), and Mario Gotze (82 and 89 min.).

The only goal scorer among the guests was Henrikh Mkhitaryan (69 min. from the penalty spot).

Roma's "Lazio" club striker M. Klose entered the field in the 67th minute in the duel with Armenia and soon scored a goal. It was already the 69th precise goal of the veteran, defending the honor of Germany.

Until then, M. Klose shared the title of the most prolific with the legendary Gerd Mueller.

The 35-year-old German was delighted to become the record holder: "This goal means a lot to me, but now I am most happy to be playing for this team again. Lately, I haven't been fully prepared, but gradually I feel the rhythm. In the World Cup, I hope to help my team."

The German national team will compete in Group G of the World Championships against Portugal, the USA, and Ghana.

In the FIFA rankings, the German team ranks second, while the Armenian footballers are 38th.
