Milan's "Inter" official website announces that Mateo Kovacic has tied his future with the club until the summer of 2019.
This news should disappoint a whole bunch of European teams who wanted to acquire the 20-year-old Croatian. Teams such as "Manchester United," "Liverpool," London's "Chelsea," and "Arsenal" were interested. In addition, another Croatian national team player representing Madrid's "Real," Luka Modric, previously stated that Kovacic had also caught the attention of the "royal club".
"Inter" director Marco Fassone stated that the Croatian perfectly reflects the "nerazzurri's" future plans, but the extension of the contract with him is just the beginning.
Meanwhile, the team's strategist Roberto Mancini also expressed his opinion: "Inter" invests in the future with this contract, and I believe he has huge potential. We are very happy to see him in our team."
This season, the midfielder scored seven goals and made two assists in 21 matches.
