Mateo Kovacic's patience finally ran out and the Real Madrid midfielder, who was not getting enough playing time, expressed his desire to leave the club.
The Croatian, who has become one of the most promising Serie A midfielders, joined Inter Milan in 2015, but has not been able to break into the starting lineup since then.
The 24-year-old midfielder has to compete with talents such as Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro in the Spanish capital, so he decided that these battles were enough for him.
"I want to play more and the best way to do that is to leave Madrid," Kovacic told the newspaper "Marca".
"I love football and being on the field. I want the opportunity to play in the starting lineup for another team. If I'm not playing, I'm not happy."
Over the past three seasons, Kovacic has started only 37 La Liga matches from the first minute.
