German national team goalkeeper Manuel Neuer feels completely responsible for the first conceded goal, which almost decided yesterday's match against the Polish national team.
The players led by Joachim Low dominated the field and controlled the ball for most of the time, but six minutes into the second half, to the joy of all fans gathered in Warsaw, the hosts took the lead after Lukasz Piszczek's pass forward was converted by Arkadiusz Milik.
This goal allowed the Poles to tighten their defense even more and secure a victory against their neighboring country. The victory was sealed two minutes before the end of the match by Sebastian Mila.
"In the situation when the first goal was scored, I rushed out bravely. However, it was already too late. It was my mistake," said the Bayern Munich player.
Neuer also said that he is confident that next September, when the countries meet in Frankfurt, the Germans will be able to get their revenge.
"We could have avoided this defeat," the goalkeeper continued. "We did not play poorly. If we had scored the first goal, we would have won."
"From the beginning, we knew that winning in Warsaw is difficult."
"But when we play in our own stadium in Germany, we will beat them."
