Brazilian national team star Neymar was labeled completely pitiful after the evening game against Mexico.
This is the opinion of Irish national team coach Martin O'Neill, according to whom the forward wastes his talent by acting.
Although the 26-year-old footballer scored a goal and made an assist in the mentioned match, most attention was drawn to his rolling on the ground.
"Neymar's reaction is pitiful. It is absolutely pitiful," O'Neill told ITV.
"To be frank, today this is a red card, because they saw him (Mexican national team defender Miguel Layun - ed. note) stepping on his foot. However, I'm talking about the fact that Neymar's pain threshold is incredibly low - I have to admit it. I wouldn't want him to come out of surgery after a flu shot."
"He is a top-class player, he is a top-class actor."
"He still doesn't show his best game. Part of it is due to his acting. He was on the ground dozens of times and would get up again. He played four matches and it didn't bother him at all."
After a 2-0 victory, the Brazilians advanced to the quarterfinals, where they will face either Belgium or Japan.
