The football world was shaken on Sunday by the news that legendary Dutch footballer Marc Overmars is leaving the club due to a scandal. It was revealed that M. Overmars was sending inappropriate messages to female club employees. The former "Ajax" director claimed that he did not realize he was crossing certain boundaries. "I am very ashamed. Last week, my behavior was discussed within the club. Unfortunately, behaving in this way I did not realize that I was crossing boundaries, but now I understand it perfectly. I want to apologize for that. I had no right to behave like this. However, now it is too late to change anything, so I see no other option but to resign from my position," Overmars is quoted in the "Ajax" statement.
