Former England international player Michael Owen spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo's career period at Madrid's "Real" club.
According to the expert, at the time, the Portuguese player's value reached one billion pounds sterling.
"If we consider that the current player transfer record exceeds 200 million pounds sterling, it can be argued that C. Ronaldo was more expensive than when playing for 'Man Utd' club.
Just look at what he could offer – numerous Champions League medals, victories, stacks of sold jerseys, and financial benefits worldwide.
I believe that even 500 million pounds sterling would be too cheap. It would probably need to be doubled if you take into account the factors mentioned above. Given that he provided such benefits for nine seasons, C. Ronaldo's value would reach a billion," explained M. Owen.
